Endings.

Maegwin watches Merith's broadcast, her face white.  "oh no, Merith,"  she murmurs.  As she watches Merith's sacrifice, her head slowly shakes from side to side, tears rolling down her face.

When the broadcast ends, she points a remote and the vidscreen goes  dark.   For several moments she sits there, still staring at the screen.

She slowly rises, looking around the room.  All her personal effects were packed, in storage.  Maegwin climbs the stairs and enters her bedroom.  The room is bare, only a green canvas satchel sitting at the end of her bed looking out of place.  Picking it up, she slings it over her shoulder and looks around.  No trace of her remained in the house.

Back down the stairs.  She pulls out a trump, but hesitates,  looking up at a blue box on the mantle.  Slowly she moves over to  it and picks it up, opening it and looking at the seashell inside.  After a moment, she closes the box, drops her satchel onto the couch, and opens the flap on the satchel, placing the box inside.  She closes the flap and tosses it over her shoulder again.

Maegwin picks up the remote and presses a series of buttons.  The lights fade away and the house goes dark and quiet.  She steps over to a window, and using moonlight, activates the trump.  Golden light streams through.  She looks around the darkened room one last time, and then steps through into the afternoon.
