Brief character history:

Asia's the child of an American born Chinese mother and an American father. Her father died when Asia was six. He was shot during a rash of violence back in the mid 80s. Asia remembers her mother keeping her home from school for several days back then soon after he died. She prayed alot then, too.

Her uncle Eddie once told her there was a tong war going on. Her father had been representing some kids in court, and was gunned down with them when they left court after an arraignment. But when Asia pressed him for more details, Uncle Eddie always seemed to deflect the questions.

Despite the scholarships she got to go to college, it just wasn't enough to make ends meet and with her mother a single parent and still raising Asia's younger brother there was no help there. So Asia went to work when one of her classmates told her that several of the girls at school were picking up extra money by working as dancers.

Asia went to work at one of the underground clubs in Chinatown on the weekends and during breaks, feeling she was less likely to run into someone she knew down there. Of course, that's before she discovered she went to school with perverts.
